This is a painting of good old Kolkata. The architecture is typical of the British era. Narrow bylanes with the old filament type yellow light. Found this picture of an old man sitting outside his house in the night probably brooding over some issue. Was an interesting subject and painted it. Hope the painting does justice to the time of the night and the sombre mood. And hope you all like it.
Have a great weekend.
A beautiful watercolor AK!!! It's amazing how you capture all those details in a small canvas. Amazing work as always.!!!
ReplyDeleteDear AK, I admire your work! You get better and better!! Best wishes, Sadami
ReplyDeleteThat warm light is so wonderful and I like the textures on the ground. I wonder what he was thinking about that was taking him outside to sit and ponder?
ReplyDeleteThe texture on the ground was created accidentally. Can call it creative discovery.
DeleteThe sombre mood is there, no doubt....I love this painting !
ReplyDeleteNicely captured the moment.
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting, with a fantastic mood feeling to it. It makes me wonder what the old man is thinking!
ReplyDeleteLove the subject and the mood to it !
ReplyDeleteYou captured the street light beautifully. Managed to keep the colors transparent and the scene crisp while clearly conveying the fact that it is night.
ReplyDeleteYou have reproduced the old Kolkata as it is.
ReplyDeleteSo very wonderful! I love how you have captured the night lights :)
ReplyDeleteI love the color scheme and the title. The architectural details and shadows are wonderful.
