The Great Migration
The Great Migration of the Wildebeest from the Serengetti National Park of Tanzania to the Masai Mara of Kenya began earlier than expected this year. Thousands of these animals will be migrating in search of greener pastures. With them come the predators...Lions, Cheetahs, Crocodiles of the Mara river. Party time for all of them! Thousands of wild life enthusiasts land up in the region to see this wonder of mother nature. Amongst them is going to be...your's truly!!! Am leaving for the Masai Mara tomorrow to spend some time in the wilderness. Might as well do it now because the way things are moving, this amazing feat of nature might not last long. Mankind has been trying to destroy nature in every form... the construction of The Serengetti Highway is one of them. Please log on to http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/STOP-THE-SERENGETI-HIGHWAY/125601617471610 and contribute to the voices of reason. Thanks and take care. Will be back with more after about a week.

Beautiful work Asit! And how lucky to be witnessing this feat!!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful this watercolor! I have seen in TV the animals migration you are talking about, really impressive! Ciao!
ReplyDeleteBuenos trabajos, el león esta genial, esta también son temas difíciles pero muy interesantes.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice idea to merge the shadows with the main figure, a sort of movement is felt that represents the topic. yes, Mankind is no less than those predators, anyway we can expect more lovely works from the wilderness..Enjoy Masai Mara!
ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky to be able to watch this wonderful spectacle from life! and let's hope that the appeal to save the Serengeti National Park will have success. Your pastel is very beautiful, I like the way you have treated the background.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your wilderness adventure, you are right about the destruction of wilderness. We face it right here in our little town in Maine. They are tearing down trees and digging up fields to put up houses no one wants!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the beautiful animal paintings, we will all need them!
Lovely painting capturing the mood. Looking forward to hearing about what you saw and many more paintings of the Great migration.
ReplyDeleteThe movement of the wild beast is captured beautifully! Was the background grey? Goodluck on your trip to Masai Mara.

Feliz viaje!
