Another attempt

Some time back some one had told me that I will find portraits difficult to do. I have taken his words seriously and hence had made two in oils earlier. Wanted to do one in watercolors also. Was looking around for a subject and decided to trouble my Captain for a sitting. I am sure he was a bit apprehensive but agreed. The end result is in front of you. He was thrilled so I can presume it must be OK.

  3. I like it a lot, Asit! It is painted loosely, yet the face is so alive. And from a live model - so much more difficult. I think that you are very good at portraits, and I suspect that you enjoy them. So "someone" may have been mistaken :)

  4. The portrait is beautiful, perfect in every way, and if your captain was happy...you can be too :-)) Portraits ARE difficult, but it seems to come easy to you.

  5. This is a perfect job, I haven't seen your captain, but by looking at this painting, I feel I am meeting him in person, so real, his eyes convey that he is enjoying his sitting, congrats on this lovely job!
