Tranquility-2

Have been really fascinated by calm waters. The blue waters and white sands of Mombasa were a real treat to the eyes and therapy to the soul. Pastels, water colors and then could not help but paint it in oils also. But wanted to try something different so this time I treated the subject in an abstract style. Just close your eyes and visualize the cool blue waters, the sunlight reflecting on the ripples. The water turning a magical blue green at places. The white sand peeping through the shallow waters closer shore. The only thing missing is two children playing oblivious to the surroundings ! Now open your eyes, look at the painting and tell me what you think.

  17. This painting really conveys a sense of tranquillity. I like very much the way you decided to interpret this subject: it gives the impression of the sun shining on the ripples better in this way than if you had depicted them realistically. Very very beautiful, AK!

  21. Thanks every one for the encouraging words. Have been really encouraged to do some more work in the same style. But the problem is that I get bored with things very fast and like to move on. Lets see...

  25. The variations in your style distinguish one canvas from the other. Not only the subject but the abstract brush strokes do give the feel of peace and happiness.
