Monstera Deliciosa

Had spoilt two watercolors one after the other. Probably because of not getting enough time or too many distractions. Decided to paint some thing that would take a little less time and concentration. These lovely leaves have always fascinated me. They are called 'Monstera Deliciosa'. Have done two works earlier of the same subject. This was a quick fire work and was happy. Hope you all like it.

  1. This turned out to be a perfect piece, sometimes quick works without much expectations will cross our expectation!
I understand the constraints when you are busy with a job like yours, but I look forward to your works more often, you do know they are your stress busters!

    1. What you said holds good in a larger perspective. Less expectations... more satisfaction.

  2. This is a beautiful watercolour, I have a large Monstera in my dining room in a pot which I have been growing for many years, unfortunately it does not look half as good as yours, with their dappled leaves. Watercolours can be so hit and miss, glad yours ended up being a hit :)

  3. Love it!
Sometimes the quick fire ones retain a freshness and immediacy which cries out with joy!
    This certainly does that.

    1. Thanks a lot. Many a time I tend to overdo and lose the freshness of the colors.

  5. Beautiful loose painting with nice sense of shape and dimension, which I find very hard when painting foliage. Lovely textures too!

    Ciao, ciao, a presto, Floriana

  10. Asti, really beautiful with painterly touches of light filled washes and dark negative painting touches! Quick paintings especially after some frustration with other attempts always seem to gratify, no? - I guess by then our brains and brushes have had their practice and are toned ;)
